YouTuber who analyzed the new PS5 is receiving threats
Last week, the YouTuber technology, Austin Evans, published a video in which it dismantled the new revision of PS5 digital edition. Apparently, this console has a smaller heat sink with respect to the original model, and as a consequence, it is heated to heat more. Given these discoveries, Evans began to receive all kinds of threats and now has launched another video where he pronounces regarding this.
In the video above, Evans reiterates the position of him with respect to this new PS5 , however, he highlights that the toxicity of the community came out of control.
With the thermal images that I could take, the fact that I opened the PS5 and I saw that Sony significantly reduced the size of the heat sink, I determined that it is a degradation compared to the first model.
PS5 simply has a smaller heat sink. There is less aluminum, there is less copper, there is less material, there are 300 grams less. The physics laws simply dictate that there is less material and less surface area to remove the heat from the chip.
Everything I said is that, according to my tests, it seems that it is heated more, which would logically make sense with a smaller heat sink. And therefore, I could have some problems in the future. If you are in a truly thermally restricted environment, it is on a TV cabinet or something, your PS5 can warm up more and may have less longevity. But that was all I said.
Additionally, Evans mentions that several users sent him the video made by Digital Foundry, where he explains that this new model does not really suffer from overheating, to evidence the bad work he was doing. Evans agrees with the video of digitalfoundry , however, it stresses that this new ps5 does have a smaller heat sink and this could bring problems in the future.
